Miscellaneous Bulk & Consumer Packaging

Automating your packaging process without an integrator can cause stoppage, backups, improper fill and inefficient use of your machines and work force. We work with you to specify and integrate equipment, design the equipment layout and specify your line rate to equipment spacing. EPIC has broad experience in both bulk sized packaging lines and consumer sized packaging lines.

Packaging line design always includes:

  • Product Handling -  Determine how to transport the product throughout the process
  • Product Filling –Correct filling technology researched and provided
  • Product Inspection – Fill level inspection, code dating, label verification, bar code identification, product validation
  • Product Packing– Provide options for Case Erecting and Case Packaging, code dating, on-line case printing, case sealing, case weighing and final conveying.
  • Manual/Automatic & New/Used Equipment – Define upfront when it makes sense to use manual operation options vs. fully automatic operations and provide used equipment option to reduce capital costs

Why EPIC Packaging?

EPIC’s Packaging Engineers study your line speed and production needs through a detailed design process.

EPIC’s in-house fabrication facility is utilized to assemble, test or modify packaging applications before they go to the field. We utilize our experience in the consumer packaging industry for research and testing of optimal line efficiencies.  Our engineering team identifies potential packaging line restraints, consolidates responsibility and improves equipment integration.

Customers are involved through every stage of the process. You are provided training and experience with the application before it arrives on site.  Each customized packaging system performs to the required specification and with a vertical start-up in the field.  This saves the customer both time and money.

The first step to our process is an upfront meeting with the customer to understand their project.  This meeting includes several EPIC engineers with years of experience in the packaging field.  Based on this meeting a Front End Engineering (FEE) study begins, providing the customer a clear path forward.  The FEE includes initial layout, a firm budget, project timeline, defined scope of work, and major equipment specifications.

Bulk Sized Packaging Line Experience:

  • Bulk Agricultural – Friability, high fill temperatures, and line speed are all examples of challenges addressed during the packaging line design phase to ensure a successful outcome after installation.
  • Bio-technologies, Biochemicals, and/or Bulk Pharmaceuticals – Whether its 55 gallon drums, pail’s, HDPE plastic bottles or IBC’s EPIC will help you fill it safely and efficiently. Preserving product integrity, compliance and validation and line speed are all examples of challenges addressed during the packaging line design
